Alex DeSeta in Afghanistan
Associate Alex DeSeta Trades in His Suit and Tie for Camo and Combat Boots
Just after the New Year families of the 1-178th wished their loved ones a farewell. Some of the soldiers enjoyed their last remaining moments in silence and others held on tightly. The 1-178th will be heading to camp Atterbury Indiana where soldiers will conduct final training before heading over seas. They have already been training for two months at Fort Stewart preparing for their mission in Afghanistan.
Anchor would like to wish one of its own safe travels as he deploys with the unit. Alex DeSeta will lead his platoon against the war on terror. Among some of his duties will include providing security to navy personnel as they meet with local villagers and discuss ways to spark their economy, as well as improve their local government. Some words from LT DeSeta, "You have to set your nerves aside and prepare yourself physically and mentally to get your mind in the right place when you go into a combat zone." Alex and his platoon will be deployed for the better part of the 2010 year.
